Shed
A descending shaft where your chain's length is a resource with two opposed uses. Self-collision is free — your own segments slide out of the way — and you can spit a swallowed core back out at will to shorten yourself. Length is what lets you span a vault's scattered pads; shortness is what lets you fit through a gate. Rock and rising dust kill you; your own body never does.
