A lighthouse on a headland in fog. You rotate the lamp; whatever the beam holds becomes visible and is pushed back. Boats drift toward the rocks from all sides, and a boat you are not lighting keeps coming blind. The lamp recharges, so sweeping wastes it and holding a bearing spends it — the game is choosing what to stop looking at.
